The Annual Sukha Meditation Training will take you on a mind and heart journey like no other.
Build a strong personal sitting practice in Loving Kindness, Compassion, Appreciation, Equanimity, and Shamatha Meditation. A dynamic foundation in breathwork, Kundalini Yoga. Skills to teach meditation, practice meditation, and most importantly cultivation of insight and enhancement of your life! You choose how you'd like to apply what you are learning to your every day life. Teach others the joy and tenderness of meditation either in more classic settings like schools, yoga studios, meditation classes you create or "teach" through how you live your life with your newly honed skills.
The curriculum has been created for the serious and curious student. 6 Months dedicated to enhancing your life and offering you more tools to navigate and lead your own community. The course is progressive and builds on practices and teachings from mindfulness based meditation, Buddhism, breathwork, Kundalini and Kriya yoga as well as the latest in neuroscience relating to mindfulness and breathwork. A blend of extended & experiential meditation practices, lecture, discussion, reading, and individual and group offerings balance the curriculum. We focus on breathwork, mantra, silent practices, understanding subtle body anatomy, the nervous system, the spine, the brain, and the effects of the practice on our emotional and mental wellbeing. Students from all walks join us and each have unique desires and intentions as to the WHY behind enrolling. Many are yoga teachers, therapists, or "space holders" wanting to enhance and expand their skills. Perhaps you're in a season of life where you've recognized the invaluable nature of learning about yourself, your mind and the world around you and you desire to have language, practices and a shared community to expand your understanding though discussion, contemplation, and practice.
A bonus of this course is you can choose to use it for purely personal joy or to grow your professional tool kit all in one journey. #Winning A typical day includes: Extended group practice - breathwork, mantra, guided and silent sitting, and kriyas based on the Kundalini lineage as well as contemplative techniques inspired by Buddhism. Lively Group discussions on topics ranging from subtle body anatomy, translating sanskrit, understanding how the nervous system is affected by the various practices we'll explore. Opportunity to do multiple 40 day meditations with your peers and teachers small and large group teaching with your peers, supported by your teachers Understanding and Introduction to the history of Kriya and Kundalini Yoga the Aquarian Age. Introduction to Buddhism and application of foundational teachings in our everyday life directly inspired by Erinn's studies under her beloved teacher, Pema Chodron and the greatest teacher of all - lifes heartaches, losses and setbacks.
Deep experiential time with Bhakti Yoga, Mantra, Sound, and Breathwork and how these practices enhance your life and affect the physiology of the body and mind.
We will meet ONE weekend per month over the course of 6 months - Friday evening, and all day Sat/Sun.
In between session your commitment to practice is 2 additional Sukha classes with Mark or Erinn per month personal practice time, reading, and course preparation outside of training days of approx 1 hour per week. We aim to make this course rich with opportunity for you to grow and deepen while also honoring your life commitments and desire to live! :)
Friday Hours: 630-830p theses evenings are dedicated to book discussions, inquiry into previous sessions personal work and peer group time.
Saturday / Sunday: morning sessions 9-12pm afternoon sessions 130-5:30p each hour of lecture segment includes short breaks and each weekend day will have a 90 minute lunch break.
