Season of the Lungs: A Katonah Yoga® + 5-Element Workshop
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH
5:30-7PM at Sukha Yoga E. MLK
Autumn is the season of the lungs — the element of metal, breath, and refinement. In nature, it’s the time of harvest and decay before winter: what’s unnecessary is shed, and what’s essential is gathered and stored. This cycle moves through us regardless, yet when brought into conscious awareness, it becomes a fully lived experience — one that can be articulated to its absolute potential.
Each session includes:
• Katonah Yoga® and Classical Chinese 5-Element theory
• Long, therapeutic practice
• Artful use of props and hands-on adjustments
• Potent and integrative breathwork techniques

Toward a Rational Yoga: Spirituality Without Mysticism - An Interactive Talk with Leslie Kaminoff
Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30PM
Location: Sukha Oltorf (Behind The ABGB)
Event Synopsis: In this thought-provoking lecture, Leslie Kaminoff makes the case that yoga can be spiritual without being mystical.
Rational Yoga begins with the simple, accessible fact that every breath we take is a profound act of connection with a benevolent universe that provides all that is necessary for us to thrive. From that direct experience, a genuine spirituality emerges — one that requires no belief system, no supernatural vocabulary, and no surrender of critical thinking.
Drawing on decades of anatomical exploration and teaching, Leslie examines how the basic forces of life, as expressed by the rhythms of our breath, reveal the same eternal truths the ancient yogis sought — without appealing to revelation and dogma.
Participants will leave with a renewed appreciation for:
How breath and awareness create the foundation for all spiritual experience.
Why scientific inquiry and contemplative practice are not opposites, but allies.
How to teach and practice yoga in language that is inclusive, clear, and reality-based.
The freedom that comes from letting go of “woo” while keeping what’s truly sacred.
Whether you’re a teacher looking to deepen your students’ understanding, a practitioner searching for meaning beyond mystical platitudes, or simply curious about a more grounded way to experience yoga, this talk offers a path towards a rational yoga: spiritual, embodied, and utterly human.
